I’ve caved in
Posted on September 5th, 2008 @ 7:32 pm

I know it’s been quite a while since my last entry but I am back. I’ve started a new fan site so all my mind set went there and now that it’s all done, I can get back to my blogging. If you’ve been reading the past few entries, you may already know who it’s about. Oh dear… she did it.

Thank you Gwen <3!

I don’t want to get into too much detail but I’m in the process of applying for university. I don’t even want to say anything other than that because I’m a pessimist and I know you don’t want to read all negative thoughts about it. I thought I’d just put it out there and tell you where my other mindset was. Just wish me luck? ;-)

I have a party to attend to tomorrow. Unfortunately NOT a themed party which sucks. One of my oldest friends is turning 21 so she’s having a huge party with family and friends. I thought it was nice of her to invite me since I don’t really see her anymore. These are friends whom I used to be so close with until high school ended. It was one of those drifting apart from group situations. But it’ll be great to catch up with them. Also I still have to buy a birthday card and wrapping paper.

Spring has started but it poured gallons of rain today. Nice introduction, eh? Before you know it, it’ll be Summer. Santa is in shorts in December. I can’t stand summer. I’ve always said I’d rather freeze my ass off than sweat my ass off.

Now time to return comments!

I’m giddy and I like it

WARNING - Fan Girl Moment.

My fascination with Aaron Eckhart goes way into a deep personal level now thanks to this article I came across from 2003. Also, no one’s going to stalk me anyway so I can be specific but be conspicuous at the same time. I knew he used to live in Sydney and had inklings of where he used to live, but I’ll be damned…. I was right.

————–
His first acting lesson came as a 15-year-old in England but when his father got the call to move to Sydney, Eckhart, a keen surfer when the family lived in California, couldn’t have been happier.

He continued his acting at a “small dramatic school” in George Street, Sydney, but short of cash he sought a job at a cinema in a shopping mall on Sydney’s north shore, near Manly.

I worked at Warringah Mall as a movie usher,” he says with a laugh.

………….

When he wasn’t in acting school or at the mall, Eckhart was with his surfboard on one of Sydney’s northern beaches.

“I surfed at Manly, Dee Why and all the way up the coast,” he said.

“They were really good waves, then we moved to Hawaii after that and there were even better waves.”

——————–

I’d just like to make a few notes…

1) I go to that mall, probably more than I should
2) I’m from “Sydney’s North Shore” (it’s actually the Northern Beaches, journalist)
3) I am very familiar with the places where he “surfed at”
4) HOLY CRAP he used to live around here!

It blew my freakin’ mind! It just made me happy and ecstatic because it’s quite a close knit community here so having someone whose famous used to live here, and go to the places that are close to people’s hearts, is pretty awesome. He just went a million times up in my book! If the opportunity occurs, I’ll be grateful to give him the “welcome back” tour :P

Edit: Talk about being too excited! It tends to happen from time to time. Now I’ve finally calmed down and it became a so-so fact, a “that’s pretty cool” conversation piece.

I rented a few of his movies a few days ago and I never knew The Core was a comedy. It’s not meant to be but how could you not laugh when pigeons are dropping dead from the sky and people are running for their lives, and more pigeons crashing into vehicle windows killing the drivers? What? I have a weird sense of humour so I just laughed a lot during that scene.

I went to a friend’s 21st yesterday and it was alright. Despite the fact that it’s winter here, the festivities were outside so all of us were in large coats, hand in pockets and shivering. The party decor was adult-themed with blowup dolls and boob balloons, and even the game of pass the parcel was adult. My friend got a boobie back scratcher, a friend of a friend got a squishy dick key chain and another friend of mine got the main present which was a boob bra. Nice, eh? Not really my taste in party decor but whatever makes the birthday boy happy. However the cakes (five of them, mmm!) were not adult-themed so thank god for that.

Next up on the movie agenda, tomorrow, will be Tropic Thunder! I’m really excited to see it. It looks hilarious and I hope it will be! I cannot wait to see what Robert Downey Jr. does in the movie. We always need more RDJ in the world.

I guess it wasn’t tarty at all
Posted on July 22nd, 2008 @ 5:03 pm

My friend’s birthday party was a lot of fun. Plenty of food, drinks and pool. The room she hired had two pool tables and some people didn’t leave there during the whole night. I chatted amongst my friends, especially with ones whom I haven’t seen in ages so it was really good to see them. I know I said in my previous entry that the dress that I bought was tarty. Well after wearing it, it wasn’t that tarty after all and my friends were even complimenting it so I guess it wasn’t that bad. Here is my Socialite outfit:

My make up was pink, my shoes were also pink and I had on butterfly chandelier earrings (which you can’t see in the photo, I really liked them).

Other people went as Satan, Sleek and Sexy, Superman, Suit, the birthday girl was a Serving wench and of course there were people there who didn’t try at all. Fine, don’t celebrate the theme then :P

Today was probably the worst driving lesson yet. I went on a dual roundabout indicated left, not realising that I did this, I went all the way around to the right confusing all the drivers around me. Oh my goodness, it was so embarrassing! I really thought I indicated right. There’s one major blunder and probably many more to come. LOL.

The X-Files: I Want To Believe was really good! The plot was something they would do on the TV show but it was done really well. It was a tiny bit gory at times and had to look away for a bit. There were also moments where I was saying quietly, “You idiot!”. If you see it, you might know where I said that. I got nostalgic when I heard pieces of the theme song during and after the movie. Dun-nun-nun-nun…

Be a socialite for a night
Posted on July 20th, 2008 @ 2:20 pm

Tonight I’ll be going to my friend’s 21st birthday at a pub called The Oaks. She hired a little function room there so we’ll have our own little space to do whatever. I’ve always driven past it but I’ve never actually walked in there. It’ll be fun going as I haven’t seen some of my friends in quite some time. One of my friends has my chandelier earrings so I have to remind her to give them back to me…. I miss them oh so much. Everyone has to dress up as the theme is “S is for….” I decided to pick… Socialite. My inspiration for my outfit was Paris Hilton so I bought the most tarty pink dress today, and I would like to point out that it’s definitely something I would not wear and I’m not a fan of her. I thought it would be funny to do for a night. If the pictures turn out good, I may post a picture :P

Tomorrow, next up on my movie viewing is The X-Files: I Want To Believe. No one knows anything about the plot and the stars are keeping it a secret so I’m going in there blind. Mulder and Scully together again! When I watched the TV show when I was younger, my aunt got made that they didn’t hook up so cross my fingers for her that they will.

I’ve been doing some temp work at my mum’s work recently and I can safely say I never want to look at Microsoft Excel and anything to do with spreadsheets ever again. I basically got given work that no one wanted to do. The second day I was doing laminating and I wanted to freakin’ shoot myself. Never again.

My Aaron Eckhart introductory obsession is on an all time high. I watched No Reservations, Thank You For Smoking, and Meet Bill, and I loved those. I just got The Black Dahlia so I’ll be watching that soon. There was no In The Company of Men, because I’ve been reading he’s a total asshole to women in that. Who cares, still hot hehe. Speaking of him, when I called my friend, she was about to go in and see The Dark Knight, I couldn’t help pipe up, “I love Harvey Dent. I just had to say it!”.

Another SNL video in a post? This seems almost mandatory now! I saw this last night on TV — It’s MacGruber working with his son (Shia LaBeouf) but he’s suspecting that his son might be gay. It’s really hilarious stuff :D
