I’m giddy and I like it

WARNING - Fan Girl Moment.

My fascination with Aaron Eckhart goes way into a deep personal level now thanks to this article I came across from 2003. Also, no one’s going to stalk me anyway so I can be specific but be conspicuous at the same time. I knew he used to live in Sydney and had inklings of where he used to live, but I’ll be damned…. I was right.

————–
His first acting lesson came as a 15-year-old in England but when his father got the call to move to Sydney, Eckhart, a keen surfer when the family lived in California, couldn’t have been happier.

He continued his acting at a “small dramatic school” in George Street, Sydney, but short of cash he sought a job at a cinema in a shopping mall on Sydney’s north shore, near Manly.

I worked at Warringah Mall as a movie usher,” he says with a laugh.

………….

When he wasn’t in acting school or at the mall, Eckhart was with his surfboard on one of Sydney’s northern beaches.

“I surfed at Manly, Dee Why and all the way up the coast,” he said.

“They were really good waves, then we moved to Hawaii after that and there were even better waves.”

I’d just like to make a few notes…

1) I go to that mall, probably more than I should
2) I’m from “Sydney’s North Shore” (it’s actually the Northern Beaches, journalist)
3) I am very familiar with the places where he “surfed at”
4) HOLY CRAP he used to live around here!

It blew my freakin’ mind! It just made me happy and ecstatic because it’s quite a close knit community here so having someone whose famous used to live here, and go to the places that are close to people’s hearts, is pretty awesome. He just went a million times up in my book! If the opportunity occurs, I’ll be grateful to give him the “welcome back” tour :P

Edit: Talk about being too excited! It tends to happen from time to time. Now I’ve finally calmed down and it became a so-so fact, a “that’s pretty cool” conversation piece.

I rented a few of his movies a few days ago and I never knew The Core was a comedy. It’s not meant to be but how could you not laugh when pigeons are dropping dead from the sky and people are running for their lives, and more pigeons crashing into vehicle windows killing the drivers? What? I have a weird sense of humour so I just laughed a lot during that scene.

I went to a friend’s 21st yesterday and it was alright. Despite the fact that it’s winter here, the festivities were outside so all of us were in large coats, hand in pockets and shivering. The party decor was adult-themed with blowup dolls and boob balloons, and even the game of pass the parcel was adult. My friend got a boobie back scratcher, a friend of a friend got a squishy dick key chain and another friend of mine got the main present which was a boob bra. Nice, eh? Not really my taste in party decor but whatever makes the birthday boy happy. However the cakes (five of them, mmm!) were not adult-themed so thank god for that.

Next up on the movie agenda, tomorrow, will be Tropic Thunder! I’m really excited to see it. It looks hilarious and I hope it will be! I cannot wait to see what Robert Downey Jr. does in the movie. We always need more RDJ in the world.
